The Dalio Family Office (DFO) supports Barbara and Ray Dalio and their family in their ventures, investments, and philanthropic efforts under Dalio Philanthropies, which includes OceanX, Dalio Education, Endless Network, and the Beijing Dalio Foundation. The office is headquartered in Westport, CT with regional offices in New York City, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi. This position will be based in our Singapore office.
The Senior Program Associate will support the senior staff in Dalio Philanthropies’ Singapore Office to advance philanthropic grantmaking in Singapore and the Asia‑Pacific region. While the portfolio will emphasize grantmaking related to oceans and immersive media, the role will also engage with a variety of community partners and organizations working in in Singapore and across Asia. The Senior Program Associate will work closely and collaboratively with a diverse set of stakeholders, including a principal; Dalio Philanthropies’ ocean‑focused operating programs; and programmatic and operational teams based in the United States. Success in this role requires strong partnership skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate a dynamic, globally connected philanthropic environment.
Singapore
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Lead analysis and provide strategic recommendations to senior staff in the Singapore Office to build and evolve grantmaking strategies in the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular emphasis on oceans and immersive media
- →Partner with senior program staff to coordinate closely with Dalio Philanthropies’ non‑profit operating programs, ensuring strategic alignment, shared priorities, and clear execution across grantmaking and operating initiatives.
- →Own due diligence on prospective grants, including framing key questions, synthesizing findings, and developing clear, decision‑ready recommendations for senior stakeholders
- →Build and maintain relationships with key grantees, regularly engaging with them to develop objectives and KPIs for grants and to assess progress
- →Review grant reports, and synthesize outputs and impact for senior staff and Dalio family members
- →Conduct research and stay abreast of trends in philanthropy and the ocean sector and report on those trends to philanthropic team and stakeholders
- →Draft and shape high‑quality internal and external communications on key achievements and other impacts in Dalio Philanthropies
- →Strengthen the operational needs of Dalio Philanthropies and identify opportunities for improved processes and efficiency
- →Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum 5 years’ experience, ideally in a grantmaking foundation
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant oceans and/or immersive media experience preferred
- Highly organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced family office
- Proactive self‑starter committed to excellence
- Skilled in preparing clear, compelling reports and presentations
- Low‑ego team player willing to pitch in at all levels
- Flexibility to join meetings across global time zones
- Experience with family foundations and knowledge of U.S. IRS and/or Singaporean foundation regulations preferred
- Willingness to travel in the Asia‑Pacific region up to 30% and occasionally to the U.S.
