Machine Learning Scientist III- India

The Machine Learning Scientist III is at the forefront of DISCO’s machine learning and AI research efforts, contributing to the development and enhancement of machine learning algorithms. They have a strong foundation in research methodologies, the ability to innovate, and effective collaboration within interdisciplinary teams. They play a crucial role in advancing our organization's machine learning capabilities.

• →Algorithm Development and Implementation: Designs, develops, and optimises machine learning algorithms for various applications, including the design and deployment of Generative AI models and autonomous AI agents. Implements and tests algorithms to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
• →Data Analysis and Literature Review: Conducts comprehensive data analysis to derive insights and inform research projects. Stays updated with the latest literature in machine learning and related fields. 
• →Collaboration and Interdisciplinary Work: Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning solutions into projects and acts as a force multiplier by formally mentoring junior team members and proactively resolving technical blockers.
• →Innovation and Strategy: Contributes innovative ideas to enhance research projects and methodologies. Participates in strategic discussions related to research planning. 
• →Industry Impact: Contributes to the application of machine learning research to address real-world industry challenges
• →Project Stewardship: Drives complete research and machine learning projects end-to-end—from conception through production deployment—with minimal supervision, ensuring comprehensive documentation and reproducible results.

• 2 to 4+ years of relevant experience in machine learning research. 
• Demonstrated experience in algorithm development and implementation.
• Demonstrated experience working with Generative AI technologies (e.g., LLMs, diffusion models) and building or researching agentic AI workflows and developing GenAI solutions to assist engineers in software development.
• Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams. 
• Exposure to operational aspects of research projects. 
• Experience working with advanced statistical methods.

• Mastery in designing and implementing complex machine learning algorithms. 
• Demonstrated expertise in optimizing algorithms for efficiency and scalability. 
• Profound understanding and proficiency in data analysis, including the ability to identify patterns and extract meaningful insights from large and diverse datasets. 
• Track record of conducting high-quality research leading to publications in reputable conferences or journals. 
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing machine learning expertise to interdisciplinary projects. 
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to design robust research methodologies. 
• Proven capability to innovate in the development of novel algorithms, methodologies, or applications. 
• Deep understanding of Generative AI frameworks, prompt engineering methodologies, and autonomous AI agent design patterns (e.g., tool use, reasoning loops, memory structures).
• Strong capability in systemic decomposition, able to break down large, ambiguous problems into manageable components while developing comprehensive risk mitigation strategies for AI projects.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex requirements into technical specifications, facilitating clear technical discussions, and advocating for sound architectural choices.
