Discover Echo is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in the Boston area to provide on-site, remote, and in-house technical support for our advanced microscopy systems. This role includes performing maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure minimal customer
downtime and high-quality performance. The ideal candidate has strong technical and communication skills, experience using diagnostic tools, the ability to work independently, and must be able to travel freely primarily throughout the United States and occasionally internationally, typically for up to three days at a time.
Responsibilities

Provides post-sale technical service and support to customers including: Routine Maintenance, Calibration, Troubleshooting, Component repair/replacement/alignment, and Relocation Services.
Performs assigned Field Service Cases within the provided date and time requirements.
Works to ensure minimal customer downtime and workflow interruptions.
Documents and compiles data of completed service on Echo Microscope Systems.
Self manages travel schedule to minimize expenses.
Assesses and refurbishes any used material that may be returned to Echo HQ.
Completes in-house component specific testing and rework.
Completes depot level repairs in-house within the assigned date and time.
Performs Quality Control checks on outgoing parts to support Service Team.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications and work experience
High School Diploma Required
3+ Years of Technical Experience, previous employment or education
3+ Years of Customer Support Experience
Valid Driver’s License in good standing
Knowledge and skills
Experience in the use of tools and diagnostic test equipment
Ability to write reports and compose business correspondence
Personal competencies/soft skills
Effectively establish rapport, present information and respond to questions from customers
Flexibility in to changing work schedules and flexible shifts/working hours.
Ability to work independently without supervision
Practical conditions
Frequent travel, occasionally on short notice, non-standard hours
Weekly travel of 3 days, 2 nights
Ability to lift up to 35lbs
