The Payroll Associate is a fast-paced and challenging role that requires the ability to think quickly, prioritize effectively, and deliver outstanding client service. This position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of client payrolls while ensuring full compliance with payroll regulations and providing expert customer care.
Responsibilities
• Schedule and manage multiple client payrolls simultaneously.
• Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Maintain a strong understanding of payroll taxation and compliance requirements.
• Process accurate wage garnishments, including child support orders and tax levies.
• Prepare and process accurate and timely quarter-end and year-end payroll reporting.
• Provide ad hoc payroll reports to clients as requested.
• Work with clients across multiple payroll environments to support time and attendance, payroll processing, and payroll reporting.
• Resolve client questions related to payroll and payroll systems.
• Manage and coordinate client payroll projects.
• Answer and respond to client calls and inquiries professionally and efficiently.
• Coordinate payroll activities with clients from start to finish.
• Deliver the highest level of customer service, including follow-up, follow-through, and accountability.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements & Skills
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience (payroll experience preferred).
• English proficiency at C1 level or higher (mandatory) — must be able to communicate fluently with clients verbally and in writing.
• Strong phone presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-facing environment with multiple deadlines.
