### Role Overview
The Manager, Delivery Engineering leads the Delivery pillar within DCS Customer Success — the team accountable for customer onboarding, migrations, custom development, and Professional Services engagements. This is a hybrid manager + IC role (30–40% IC), leading a small global team of Senior Delivery Engineers while personally engaging on complex projects and chairing the weekly CS leadership pipeline review. You own three critical operational responsibilities: project portfolio execution, the Onboarding Checkpoint (pre-signature deliverability review of every new customer), and lightweight new customer intake into CS systems.
### Key Responsibilities
* Team leadership and pillar ownership. Lead a globally distributed team of Senior Delivery Engineers (NA, EMEA, APAC). Define and refine the Delivery operating model, hold the team accountable to on-time delivery and post-go-live stability outcomes, and grow the team as engagement volume scales.
* Project portfolio management. Manage the active project queue across onboardings, migrations, custom development, and PS engagements. Make capacity and sequencing decisions; push back on Sales when proposed timelines exceed capacity. Direct internal improvement work during lower-volume periods.
* Professional Services governance. Own SOWs, exit criteria, and execution accountability for all PS engagements regardless of who delivers. Ensure intake, scoping, and acceptance discipline; no PS work begins without proper governance.
* Onboarding Checkpoint ownership. Own the pre-signature deliverability review of every new customer (3-business-day SLA, no auto-pass, depth scaled to complexity). Catch the POC-to-production problem; ensure custom work is properly scoped before signature. Maintain output quality across Endorsed / Conditional / Significant Risk findings.
* Weekly CS Leadership Pipeline Review (Chair). Chair the weekly review with CS leadership covering late-stage opportunities, both checkpoints' scheduling, and open findings. Own the operational mechanism for both checkpoints — trigger, documentation, and metrics.
* Solution design expertise (peer partnership with Presales). Position Delivery as a primary source of solution design expertise — Senior Delivery Engineers serve as expert technical partners to Presales on integration patterns, common architectures, and third-party integrations. Manage capacity to support this work, including two additional Delivery Engineers being hired in the near term.
* New customer intake orchestration. Coordinate every new customer's entry into CS systems (CSP, support ticketing) at contract close; coordinate tier assessment and CSM/TAM assignment with respective managers.
* Individual contributor work. Engage on complex onboarding engagements requiring senior technical leadership; co-author Technical Transition Briefs with TAM; provide hands-on guidance to Delivery Engineers on novel integration challenges.
* Cross-pillar coordination. Partner with TAM Manager (Technical Transition Briefs, go-live readiness, consolidated CS view), CSM Manager (onboarding handoffs), Support Manager (post-go-live stabilization), and Sales/AEs (upcoming engagements, PS scoping).
* AI strategy and continuous improvement. Drive AI adoption across the team for project tracking, technical execution, and checkpoint efficiency. Aggregate improvement opportunities identified by the team; route to the appropriate builder (Product/Engineering, the Delivery team itself via vibe coding, or other CS pillars).
### Required Skills & Experience
* 5+ years in customer-facing technical roles (Delivery, Solutions, or Implementation Engineering) with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior IC role
* Proven experience leading complex technical implementations — managing stakeholders, hitting aggressive go-live dates, navigating ambiguity
* Hands-on technical capability across several of: Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, Swift, React; HLS/DASH/DRM/ad insertion; REST APIs and webhooks; Docker, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure; observability stacks
* Strong project portfolio management discipline — managing variable workload, prioritizing across competing demands, pushing back when warranted
* AI-native mindset — actively use AI to amplify delivery capacity; lead teams to do the same
* Cross-functional leadership — partnering with Sales, TAM, CSM, Support, Product, and Engineering as peers
* Comfort with significant ambiguity — energized by establishing process where it does not yet exist
### Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in video streaming, AdTech, broadcast, or media SaaS; familiarity with monitoring/observability tooling (Grafana, ELK, Prometheus); experience leading globally distributed delivery teams; background managing PS engagements with formal scoping and exit criteria discipline; high-growth SaaS experience where processes were built, not inherited
