Doordash is looking for a Senior Associate, Strategy & Operations to drive pricing and promotional governance and growth across the ANZ business, with a specific focus on optimising restaurant pricing and promotions processes.

This role is critical to strengthening the New Zealand merchant organisation and involves cross-functional collaboration with product, sales, finance, and operations teams to execute strategies within the NZ market.

Restaurants are at the heart of our marketplace, and we aim to provide them with best in class experience from onboarding to growth. As Doordash continues to scale and expand its offerings, the merchant operations engine must grow in precision, efficiency and adaptability.

This is a Hybrid role with 3 days a week in-office (Auckland).

About the Role

~1 min read

You will own the end-to-end design and evaluation of pricing and promotional initiatives that drive our restaurant marketplace business. You will be the "quality bar" for analytical work, building unit economic models and designing experiments to ensure our commercial offers are both viable and high-impact.  You will report into the Manager of Merchant Strategy and Operations on our Merchant S&O team. We expect this role to be 3 days in office with 2 days remote.

About the Role

  • Own Commercial Outcomes: Move beyond slide decks to own the actual commercial design of bundles, discounts, and pricing mechanics that impact millions of users.
  • Drive Rigorous Analysis: Build and run sensitivity models from first principles, ensuring every recommendation is backed by a deep understanding of P&L logic and margin impact.
  • Influence Senior Leadership: Produce decision-grade outputs and trade-off frameworks for senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on market-moving decisions.
  • Solve High-Ambiguity Problems: Step in as a hands-on fixer for the New Zealand market, navigating incomplete data and tight timelines to land successful initiatives.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure our promotions are operationally feasible and strategically aligned.
  • You have 3+ years of experience in management consulting or high-growth commercial roles, with a proven track record of "doing the loop" and driving execution.
  • You are analytical: You excel at breaking down complex problems, identifying gaps in logic, and turning data into actionable insights. You’re comfortable working with data and coaching others to strengthen their analytical thinking.
  • You Understand Marketplace Dynamics: You have deep experience in pricing mechanics, funding splits, and predicting behavioral responses to discounts.
  • You are a Clear Communicator: You default to written artifacts, lead with evidence-based arguments, and can simplify complex trade-offs for executive audiences.
  • You Thrive in Autonomy: You manage your own time effectively, meet deadlines with clean handoffs, and don't require hierarchy to influence stakeholders.
