Job Description:
The Airframe & Powerplant Technician ensures the safety, integrity, and reliability of privately owned, general aviation aircraft. This is accomplished by performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on the airframe and powerplant portions of the aircraft. They work closely with the Assistant Director of Maintenance and Project Manager to identify issues or problems that arise during maintenance and develop solutions. They are responsible for inspecting and reporting any squawks found, documenting all work performed, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Aircraft Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and scheduled maintenance on aircraft airframes and powerplants in accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnose: Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Component Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and replacements of aircraft components as needed
- Maintenance Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation of repairs performed and parts used.
- Collaborative Problem Solving: Collaborate with superiors and other team members to resolve complex technical issues.
- Safety and Workspace Management: Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Industry Compliance and Updates: Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Technical Data Analysis and Interpretation: Access and interpret technical data, including manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, wiring diagrams, and other documentation to support maintenance and repair tasks.
Qualifications:
- Valid U.S. Driver's License
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
