The Druva Product Platform team builds the shared application platform that every Druva product is built on — the multi-tenant services, APIs, and control-plane capabilities that handle tenant lifecycle and provisioning, identity and access, authorization, configuration, orchestration and job scheduling, metering, and platform-wide observability. When a new workload or product line ships at Druva, it ships on top of what this team owns. That makes the work high-leverage and high-blast-radius in equal measure: the services you own are multi-tenant, always-on, and measured against strict availability and latency objectives, at a scale of thousands of enterprise customers and billions of operations per year.
As Manager, Engineering, you will lead a team of 10 to 13 engineers responsible for delivering features and enhancements for scale-out distributed systems and applications on the Druva Product Platform. The role requires involvement across the full product development lifecycle — from product roadmap planning, requirements specification, design, delivery, test, documentation, and release management, through to support and maintenance of what you ship in production. In addition, you will be responsible for talent management activities including mentoring, feedback through regular 1-1s, performance appraisals, and career development for your team.
- 10-15 years of experience with a consistent track record in development projects involving product development, as both an individual contributor and a team/tech lead.
- 2 years managing a team of 5+ engineers, including experience managing, motivating, developing/coaching, and appraising the team assigned to the project.
- Experience leading the development of complex, scale-out, distributed systems based on Service Oriented Architecture/Microservices (preferred).
- Understanding of modern programming languages such as Go/Python and concepts such as multi-threading, concurrency, data-intensive applications, and NoSQL databases.
- Demonstrated experience building and operating multi-tenant SaaS services — service APIs (REST/gRPC), asynchronous and event-driven workflows, and data stores at scale.
- Experience owning services in production: availability and latency objectives (SLI/SLO), on-call, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS / Azure preferred; GCP also relevant) and of containerized deployment (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Demonstrated experience building products in the areas of Cloud/SaaS services, Storage, Virtualization, or Networking/Security.
- Experience with platform concerns that cut across products: tenant isolation, authentication and authorization, rate limiting and quotas, schema and API versioning, and safe migration of live tenants.
- Exposure to data protection, backup/recovery, or cyber-resilience domains (RPO/RTO, retention, immutability).
- Familiarity with security and compliance expectations for enterprise SaaS (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, FedRAMP).
- Experience shipping AI-assisted or LLM-backed product capabilities, and the platform work that supports them.
- Start-up development and/or management experience is nice to have.

- →Own the operational health of the services your team runs — availability, latency, and cost objectives — and drive on-call quality, incident response, and follow-through on root cause analysis.
- →Partner with the product teams that build on top of your platform: treat them as customers, set clear API and migration contracts, and manage change without breaking them.
- →Help with ongoing escalations as required, and establish lean engineering practices such as CI/CD, TDD, effective code reviews, and automated testing.
