Foreman Copper Splicing

At Ervin Cable Construction, LLC, as a copper Splicing Foreman, you’ll connect and maintain copper wire networks for telecommunications, ensuring reliable phone and internet services by skillfully splicing and repairing connections. You'll serve as the on-site expert, offering guidance and support to less experienced team members.

• →Safely perform copper cable splicing, troubleshooting, and testing both aerial and underground 
• →Repair out-of-service drops or cable cuts as necessary
• →Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation
• →Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• →Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
• →Splice copper cable for underground transfers and help with light laborer duties
• →Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• →Oversee and guide other onsite workers to ensure tasks are done safely and correctly
• →Other duties as assigned

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record 
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• At least four years of experience splicing, placing, and testing copper cables 

Additional qualifications

• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred
