The Make-Ready Engineer is responsible for evaluating, designing, and coordinating modifications to existing utility infrastructure to support telecommunications deployments. This role ensures compliance with safety standards, engineering guidelines, and regulatory requirements while enabling efficient network expansion.

~1 min read- →Conduct field surveys and desktop assessments of utility poles, conduits, and aerial/underground pathways
- →Determine make ready solutions that meets National Electrical Safety Code (NESC)
- →Propose new make ready requirements and understand fiber optic telecommunication attachments
- →Review field data collected; identify and report failures or missing data
- →Evaluate and design outside plant infrastructure for broadband deployment.
- →Maintain knowledge of current underlying technologies and industry practices and regulations.
- →Oversee and inspect contractors to ensure projects are completed with a high level of quality
standards. - →Perform other duties as required and assigned
- →In-House project coordination including managing make ready budgets and schedules.
- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company

High school diploma or equivalent;

3+ years of surveying and field work experience

Ability to identify attachments on utility poles (e.g. Conductors, communication lines, and equipment)

Ability to read and understand utility maps

Engineering or technical background preferred

Surveying and field work experience preferred

Ability to produce make ready packages from pictures and field notes

Proficiency in MS Office Suite and computer usage

Strong attention to detail and ability to produce quality reports

Good verbal and written communication

Good interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment

Possess a valid driver’s license and meet the company’s insurance carrier’s criteria for coverage under the company’s insurance policy

Strong understanding of Fiber Optic design principles
- Combination of office and field work
- Travel to project sites as needed
