At VCI Construction, LLC, as an Equipment Operator on our Telecom Construction team, you'll use and take care of special machines for putting in phone and internet infrastructure, making sure everything works right and stays safe while doing the job.

Safely operate and control assigned equipment

Dig pits, trenches or potholes as directed by job plan
- →
Responsible for the site set-up and clean-up
- →
Load and unload tools, materials and equipment from truck
- →
Set up a safety perimeter
- →
Perform work in all weather conditions
- →
You will safely operate drill equipment on jobsite which may include but not limited to the following: Directional Drill, Backhoe / Excavator, Skid Steer, Tractor Trailer (Moving Equipment / Haul Water), Vacuum Truck/Trailer

You will restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite
- →
You will develop and maintain a bore schedule
- →
You will be responsible for the site set-up and clean-up
- →
You will load and unload tools, materials and equipment on truck
- →
You will be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis – JSA prior to starting construction
- →
You will set up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers and at times flagging traffic
- →
Other duties as assigned

To be 18 years of age or older
-
Able to work in all weather conditions, lift 50 lbs. regularly (up to 75 lbs. as needed), climb ladders/machinery, and work overtime/weekends/on-call.

Experienced with drilling equipment, proficient in using utility locators, and capable of maintaining a safe work environment.

May be exposed to dust, fumes, chemicals, moving machinery, and moderate noise levels.

Ability to read/understand work orders and safety instructions.

Six months of supervised equipment operation experience

Previous construction or utility experience is a plus.

Experience with drill set up and design processes, is preferred
- Routinely: work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motions, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
- Occasionally: work in confined spaces, use ladder, keyboard and mouse
