Dynamic Concepts, Incorporated, a growing Underground Utility Infrastructure company located in Washington, D.C. is searching for a Payroll Specialist.


Job Summary:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate and compliant weekly, biweekly and year-end payroll processing, payroll taxes and reporting for a multi-company, multi-division, 200+ employee payroll.   The Payroll Specialist also enters, updates, and maintains employee records in Foundation Construction Payroll system; responsible for data integrity, generating reports, data extraction and manipulation.  The Payroll Specialist reports directly to the Controller and interacts with all members of Finance and the Human Resources department and supports all employees.

  

Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, severance, final pay, and other pay actions/deductions.

  • Ensures timely and accurate setup and processing of new hires and associated taxes, benefit elections, timecard, etc. in accordance with agreed upon first pay date. Processes terminations and final pay, to include severance and PTO, in accordance with state regulatory requirements.

  • Monitors overtime usage and ensures accurate pay.

  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

  • Ensures data integrity of Foundation Construction payroll and timekeeping system. Uses full system functionality and capacity to meet the needs of our complex payroll and regulatory requirements (certified payroll and Union benefits reporting).

 

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Five to seven years of related experience required.

  • Sound knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, and internal control.

  • Proficient with Foundation Construction Payroll experience preferred.

  • Proficient with payroll software required.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and process improvement skills.

  • Excellent numerical/computational skills

 

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
