The Director, Distribution, Logistics & Trade leads commercial distribution readiness and logistics operations in support of Dyne’s U.S. product launch and global supply network. This role oversees U.S. third-party logistics (3PL) operations and end-to-end material movement across Dyne’s external manufacturing and distribution network. The Director plays a critical role in ensuring supply continuity, launch readiness, compliant international trade execution, and efficient material flow across contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs), warehouses, and distribution partners. The role partners closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, Commercial, and external stakeholders to establish scalable, compliant distribution and trade capabilities that support Dyne’s commercialization strategy and complex global supply chain.  

This role is based in Waltham, MA and requires on-site presence. 

Responsibilities

Distribution & Logistics Operations 

  • Lead operational readiness and ongoing operations of Dyne’s U.S. 3PL to support commercial product distribution. 
  • Manage material movement across Dyne’s global supply network, including transfers between CMOs and warehouses. 
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments with CMOs, carriers, warehouses, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant execution. 
  • Monitor logistics performance, inventory movements, shipment status, and operational KPIs to ensure supply reliability and continuous improvement. 

Supply Network Scaling & Launch Readiness 

  • Develop and implement scalable distribution and logistics processes that support supply network expansion and commercial growth. 
  • Ensure distribution and logistics capabilities are aligned with launch readiness requirements and evolving commercial needs. 
  • Partner cross-functionally to support uninterrupted supply during clinical-to-commercial transition and ongoing commercialization activities. 

Trade Compliance & Regulatory Execution 

  • Ensure all import and export activities are executed in compliance with applicable trade regulations and Dyne’s physical and financial flow requirements. 
  • Create, review, and maintain import/export documentation required for customs clearance and regulatory compliance. 
  • Support entity registrations and trade-related license applications, including VAT and EORI registrations, as required. 
  • In collaboration with Finance, ensure accurate determination of product classifications, country of origin, and customs valuation. 

Cross-Functional & External Partnership 

  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Quality, and external advisors to enable compliant and efficient cross-border material movements. 
  • Support establishment and maintenance of intercompany and vendor agreements related to material ownership, Incoterms, and trade responsibilities. 
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate logistics and trade compliance risks across the global supply network. 
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners to support operational excellence. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or trade compliance within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or another regulated industry. 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading commercial launch activities in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment. 
  • Proven experience managing 3PLs, CMOs, and external logistics partners within a global supply network. 
  • Strong knowledge of international trade compliance, including import/export operations, Incoterms, customs processes, and material classifications. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build and implement scalable, cross-functional processes in a fast-paced and evolving environment. 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across complex supply networks. 
  • Highly collaborative, self-directed individual who operates effectively with limited direction and demonstrates sound judgment in complex situations.

$195,000$230,000 USD

 

The pay range reflects the base pay range Dyne reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Individual compensation depends on factors such as education, experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills.
