Yard Crew Member – Class 1


JOB TYPE | Permanent, Full-Time, Year-Round

LOCATION | Blackfalds, Alberta

Position Summary

This isn’t just about moving materials – it’s about moving them right.

You’ll play a key role in keeping our yard safe, organized, and efficient by operating equipment with focus, precision, and care to move and load precast materials.



What you will do:

  • Safety operate equipment (overhead cranes, gantry cranes, shunt trucks, forklifts)
  • Load, unload, and position materials with accuracy and care
  • Assist with rigging and crane signaling
  • Support general yard and loading operations
  • Keep the yard organized, clean, and efficient
  • Complete pre- and post-shift equipment inspections

  • Respected team player – builds trust, holding a high standard for safety and quality
  • Action oriented - takes ownership, addresses issues, and follows through to completion
  • Sharp and dialed in – pays attention to every load, every move, every detail

 

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 1 license, with acceptable driver’s abstract
  • Ability to work 44 hours per week, including overtime as required
  • Available Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays
  • Physically able to perform demanding work for extended periods
  • Basic understanding of construction, equipment operating, overhead crane operating, and rigging
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to work at heights, up to 16 feet
  • Ability to follow direction and communicate effectively with the team
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment assessment prior to hire
  • Local or willing to relocate to Central Alberta
