Rig Mechanic

· This is a full-time, permanent position.

· Candidates can be based anywhere in the USA; they will be flown to project sites by the Company.

· Project sites are primarily based in Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, and California.

· Generally, employees work 20 days on / 10 days off.

About the Rig Mechanic position:

We are looking for an experienced Rig Mechanic to perform hands-on maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a fleet of RC and Diamond drills, support equipment, and heavy-duty diesel components. This role is heavily field-based and requires someone who understands the unique demands of exploration drilling. This is not an entry-level position — we are seeking a mechanic who knows the difference between a rod loader issue, a booster vs. aux compressor problem, or a top-drive hydraulic failure on a Foremost or Schramm rig.

Job Responsibilities:

· Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on:

· RC rigs (Schramm 685/450, Foremost Explorer 1500, etc.)

· Diamond/Sonic rigs (Diedrich, Boart, TSI150 CC, etc.)

· Air systems: 900/350s, boosters, rotary screw compressors

· Diesel engines (CAT, Cummins, Detroit)

· Hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders, and controls

· Conduct scheduled services and preventative maintenance using MaintainX workflows.

· Support field supervisors in troubleshooting real-time breakdowns to minimize downtime.

· Maintain accurate service logs, parts usage, and field repair notes.

· Work safely in MSHA-regulated mine environments.

· Assist with rig moves, inspections, and pre-deployment mechanical checks.

· Communicate clearly with supervisors, rig managers, and parts/purchasing personnel.

· Participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement.

· Other duties as required.

Job Requirements:

· 5+ years experience as a heavy-duty mechanic, rig mechanic, or drill mechanic (required).

· Proven experience working on RC and/or Diamond/Core rigs (required).

· Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

· Experience with diesel engines and air compressors common to drilling.

· Ability to fabricate, weld, and perform field-fit repairs is an asset.

· MSHA 5000-23 (or willingness to obtain before deployment).

· Valid driver’s license (CDL is an asset).

· Ability to work on remote mine sites and travel as required.
