Senior Frontend Engineer - Payments (Crypto & Fiat)

Operating within a platform handling ~4 billion requests per day, our systems process ~3,000 bets per second and ~95 billion bets annually, with transaction volumes continuing to grow by tens of millions every week.

As a Frontend Engineer, you'll build the real-time payment experiences that sit at the centre of this ecosystem. Using Svelte and SvelteKit, you'll develop highly responsive, server-side rendered applications that seamlessly transition to rich client-side experiences, while leveraging WebSockets to deliver live transaction updates, wallet balances, payment statuses, and instant user feedback. You'll tackle the challenges of rendering complex, data-intensive interfaces under high load, optimising performance across every interaction, and ensuring users enjoy fast, reliable, and intuitive payment journeys no matter where they are in the world.

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with a primary focus on front-end development. 
• Experience with Svelte + SvelteKit or other server-side rendering frameworks (e.g. React + NextJS, Vue + Nuxt, Quasar, etc) 
• Proficiency in JavaScript fundamentals, Subscriptions (WebSockets, Pub/Sub), TypeScript, GraphQL, Storybook and related technologies. 
• Experience with unit testing frameworks and methodologies for frontend development (e.g., Vitest, Jest, Testing Library) to ensure code quality and reliability. 
• Strong understanding of code architecture and design principles. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders. 
• Analytical mindset to address complex technical challenges and devise innovative solutions. 
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new technologies to grow as a full-stack engineer. 

• Experience working with blockchain technologies. 
• Experience integrating with third party UI and APIs to implement product features.
