The Quality Technician II/III – Final & Receiving Inspection is responsible for performing receiving, in-process, and final inspections to ensure products and materials conform to engineering drawings, customer requirements, industry standards, and Echodyne’s AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS).

This position serves as a critical quality control point within the manufacturing process by preventing nonconforming material from progressing through production or being released to customers. The Quality Technician verifies product configuration, traceability, documentation, and workmanship while maintaining accurate quality records and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The role supports quality operations at both Echodyne facilities. Each day begins at the Kirkland site performing final inspection and product release activities before transitioning to the Woodinville site to support Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA), receiving inspection, and supplier material verification activities. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently across multiple product lines while collaborating closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections against engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform final product acceptance and release activities in accordance with established quality requirements.
  • Conduct receiving inspections of incoming materials, components, PCBAs, and assemblies.
  • Travel between the Kirkland and Woodinville facilities as part of the daily workflow.
  • Verify product configuration, revision control, bill of material (BOM) alignment, traceability, serial numbers, and manufacturing records.
  • Utilize precision measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, digital microscopes, and OGP vision systems.
  • Execute digital inspection workflows and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Identify, document, segregate, and control nonconforming material.
  • Support NCR, MRB, containment, and corrective action activities.
  • Inspect PCB and PCBA assemblies to applicable IPC standards.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Escalate product quality concerns and risks in a timely manner.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and standard work development.
  • Maintain compliance with AS9100 requirements and company procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of quality inspection experience in aerospace, defense, electronics manufacturing, or a similar high-technology environment.
  • Experience performing final inspection, receiving inspection, or both.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly documentation, and bills of material.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 or equivalent quality management systems.
  • Understanding of GD&T principles and inspection methods.
  • Experience using precision measurement equipment and inspection tools.
  • Experience inspecting electronic assemblies, PCBAs, or electromechanical products.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and make sound inspection decisions.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT).
  • IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600, and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
  • Experience with OGP SmartScope or other vision inspection systems.
  • Familiarity with ERP, MES, PLM, or digital quality systems.
  • Experience supporting NCR and MRB activities.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or 6S experience.
  • Experience supporting supplier quality and incoming inspection programs.
  • Advanced GD&T interpretation and inspection experience.
  • Ability to mentor and provide guidance to less experienced quality technicians.

This position may be filled at either the Quality Technician II or Quality Technician III level depending on experience, qualifications, certifications, and demonstrated technical expertise.

Quality Technician II

  • Typically 3+ years of relevant quality inspection experience.
  • Works independently on routine inspection and receiving activities.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with inspection equipment, documentation review, and product acceptance activities.
  • Pay range of $25.00 - $37.70 per hour
  • Typically 5+ years of relevant quality inspection experience.
  • Demonstrates advanced technical expertise and decision-making capability.
  • Provides guidance to less experienced technicians and supports complex quality investigations and process improvement activities.
  • Pay range of $28.82 - $43.90 per hour

Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The daily schedule begins at the Kirkland facility performing final inspection and product release activities and transitions to the Woodinville facility to support receiving inspection and incoming quality operations.

Occasional overtime, schedule adjustments, and weekend work may be required based on business needs.
