The successful candidate will be a member of our dynamic finance team based in Hong Kong and report directly to the Financial Controller. This role will have a primary focus on group-wide tax, statutory and regulatory reporting. It is a hands-on role with excellent exposure to complex derivative products and international tax regimes.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Manage the preparation and submission of all regulatory returns to relevant authorities in our operating jurisdictions
- →Own the end-to-end corporate tax compliance process for all jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of all returns
- →Proactively identify, research, and recommend tax optimisation strategies and risk mitigation measures related to our trading activities across international jurisdictions
- →Partner with the Financial Controller on complex tax matters, including transfer pricing analysis, new product tax assessments, and strategic structuring
- →Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors, managing annual audits and coordinating on advisory projects
- →Continuously evaluate and drive improvements for financial reporting systems, processes, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk
- →Ensure robust compliance with evolving taxation and regulatory rules, providing insightful updates and recommendations to management
- →Participate in and/or lead ad hoc projects
- University graduate with recognised professional accounting qualifications (CPA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Minimum 2-3 years post-qualification experience
- Experience within the financial services sector is essential; proprietary trading, asset management, or Big 4 audit/tax with a financial services focus is highly preferred
- Strong, nuanced understanding of corporate tax principles and knowledge of accounting standards
- Demonstrable experience with, or exposure to, the tax regimes of Hong Kong, Australia, the US, or China is highly advantageous
- A proactive and curious mindset with proven analytical and problem-solving skills; a “thinker” who goes beyond the numbers
- Exceptional time management skills, highly organised, and the ability to work independently with strong initiative
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese
- An enthusiastic attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, multicultural environment
