We’re seeking a Senior Product Analyst to join our Business Intelligence (BI) team. This is an 18-month fixed-term contract for maternity cover. This role combines advanced analytical skills with direct ownership of our data infrastructure and pipelines.

You’ll partner closely with Product, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and leadership teams to transform raw data into trusted, scalable insights that inform strategic decision-making. Drawing on solid data management, and problem-solving skills, you’ll optimize the flow of data from collection and modelling, through to high-quality analysis that supports business objectives and advances our mission to solve the climate crisis.

As a data analytics specialist at Ecosia, you’ll help ensure accurate, reliable data and clear reports and insights are delivered across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Operations, and Engineering teams to analyse user and business data, delivering actionable insights and recommendations that inform strategy, prioritisation, and roadmap decisions

  • Collaborate with Product teams to design, execute, and evaluate A/B tests, supporting product optimisation and strategic planning

  • Maintain and improve statistical testing methodologies and experimentation practices

  • Develop efficient data models using dbt and integrate new data sources

  • Ensure that our data structure supports analytical and stakeholder needs

  • Work with data collected through our Snowplow event tracking to generate insights while respecting our privacy-friendly philosophy

  • Write optimised SQL queries and perform advanced data analytics, to support reporting, automation, experimentation, and performance tracking

  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports using Looker and Metabase to enable self-service, data-driven decisions

  • Ensure the delivery of accurate, reliable, and consistent data through robust governance, validation, and quality assurance processes

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to communicate insights and promote a data-oriented mindset

  • Ultimately, use data to enable growth, deliver value to users, and support our mission to solve the climate crisis

 
  • 5+ years of experience working with data, including extracting and integrating data from multiple sources into a data warehouse or data lake

  • Solid business acumen and experience using data to inform strategic decisions

  • Advanced SQL skills; experience with Python is a plus

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable insights and business impact for executive and non-technical stakeholders

  • Solid understanding of analytical and statistical techniques such as churn modelling, regression analysis and A/B testing

  • Practical experience with querying and data visualisation tools e.g., Metabase

  • Understanding of modern data architecture and familiarity with data ingestion, storage, and transformation processes to convert raw data into insight-ready formats

  • Experience designing scalable data workflows and automating processes to improve data quality, reliability, and accessibility across the organisation

  • Experience with Git-based source code management (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)

  • A creative and pragmatic approach to problem solving, with the ability to work across multiple data sources and ambiguous problem spaces

  • Fluency in English

  • Respect for privacy and awareness of data protection legislation in the EU, UK, and US

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience with our data tech stack:

    • Analysis, Visualization & Storytelling: Looker, Metabase

    • Data Modeling: dbt

    • Data Warehouse/Lake: AWS Redshift, Spectrum, S3, Athena, Glue

    • ETL: Airflow (Python), Airbyte

    • Tracking: Snowplow (JavaScript)

  • Experience in a B2C tech company, with a focus on frontend tracking analytics, in search and digital advertising

  • A degree in a data-related field is helpful but not required (Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or other STEM degrees)
