About the Role

The Props Assistant / On-Camera Hand Talent supports the props team by prepping, styling, and handling products during photography and videography sessions. This role also serves as on-camera “hand talent” for close-up product shots, ensuring consistent and high-quality presentation. The ideal candidate has well-maintained hands, no visible tattoos, an eye for visual details, and the ability to take direction from the Props and Production Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as on-camera hand talent for product and lifestyle photography or videography
  • Maintain exceptional hand appearance, including skin tone, nail shape and color, and overall health, to meet production standards
  • Pose hands in still or motion shots for close-up product photography and videos.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Associate role and others to ensure proper hand positioning, gestures, and angles for a variety of products.
  • Assist with prop handling, positioning, styling and continuity for consistent visual storytelling
  • Hold natural, expressive poses for extended periods
  • Prepare, steam, prep, pack out, and style products (e.g., backpacks, electronics, accessories) under direction from the Props Lead and Creative Associates.
  • Collaborate and assist with prop handling, organization, and setup to ensure consistency across shoots

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain hands and nails in a production-ready condition for close-up product photography and videography, in alignment with client and production standards. This may include natural, clean, camera-ready nails and skin presentation, with onsite nail maintenance provided by eko’s nail technicians as needed throughout the shift.
  • Ability to perform uncovered close-up on-camera hand and arm work that aligns with approved production and client visual standards for product photography and videography. Hands, palms, wrists, forearms, and arms up to the shoulder must be free of visible tattoos and other visual elements that would impact production continuity or the approved hand talent profile. Makeup, sleeves, bandages, or other temporary coverage methods do not meet production requirements for this role.
  • Keen eye for visual details and composition
  • Comfort taking direction and adapting quickly during shoots
  • Punctuality, reliability, and professionalism
  • Previous experience in props, product styling, or commercial photography is a plus
  • Ability to hold steady, precise poses for extended periods of time
  • Fine motor control for delicate positioning and handling of products
  • Strong communicator who collaborates well across teams
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with professionalism, respond to feedback constructively, and work through day-to-day team challenges with sound judgement, maturity, and respect
  • Ability to consistently report to work with hands and nails in camera-ready condition for close-up product photography and videography, and to follow reasonable onsite maintenance standards provided by eko to support production continuity.
  • Passionate about high-volume creative work and hands-on execution
  • This role may require safely lifting, carrying, moving, or positioning items weighing up to 40 pounds, using proper safety practices and available equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • A team player who lifts others up and brings positive energy to every shift
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the studio or production area for extended periods while supporting hands-on production work, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach regularly
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment which may include exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise

Requirements

This role is on-site at eko's Capture Factory in Bentonville, Arkansas. Candidates must be able to to commit to one of the following three shifts: 

  • Weeknights: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 pm to 4:20 am | $26.40 hr 
  • Weekend Days: Friday through Sunday, 7:30 am to 5:50 pm | $27.60 hr 
  • Weekend Nights: Friday through Sunday, 6:00 pm to 4:20 am | $27.60 hr 
  • This position operates primarily within a factory setting
  • The noise level can range from low to moderate
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles (e.g. forklifts, trucks)
