Position: Behavior Interventionist

Role Description: 

The Behavior Interventionist is a key member of the Scholar Support Team, working under the guidance of the Social Worker to support scholars with significant behavioral and social-emotional needs. This role focuses on implementing intensive interventions, analyzing behavioral data, and collaborating with staff and families to ensure scholars receive the support necessary to be successful in the school environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement Tier 3 behavioral interventions for scholars requiring intensive, individualized support

  • Collect, monitor, and analyze behavioral data to ensure accuracy and inform decision-making

  • Reflect on intervention effectiveness and adjust strategies based on data trends and student progress

  • Refer scholars to the Student Assistance Team (SAT) and contribute relevant data and observations

  • Support the development of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)

  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to ensure consistency in behavior supports across settings

  • Work closely under the supervision of the Social Worker to align interventions with school-wide systems and student needs

  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and state requirements

Qualifications: 

Education Requirements:

  • Associates Degree

  • 2+ years of experience preferred 

  • Experience working with students with significant cognitive, developmental, or communication needs preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for extended periods.

  • Ability to assist scholars with physical tasks as needed.
