Test Technician

Element has an opportunity for a Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team in Huntsville, AL. As a member of the operations team in one of the various laboratories across Element, the Associate Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. 

In this role, you will design and execute test plans to evaluate product performance, durability, and reliability under a range of thermal, vibration, humidity, and environmental conditions, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and industry standards. You will also be responsible for analyzing data, preparing detailed technical reports, and collaborating closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality, actionable results. 

The Element Huntsville campus is a massive 238,196 square foot laboratory, which specializes in large-scale and custom testing for the defense, nuclear, commercial, telecommunications, transportation, space, and aerospace sectors.  Offering qualification test services, 3rd party qualification and valve testing among others, Element Nuclear is radioactive material licensed and ICAP certified

Pay: $24-32 / hr 

• →Test Setup - Read specifications from technical documents (i.e. test plans/procedures), identify/prepare test equipment
• →Perform Testing - Monitor tests per specifications/procedures; interact with customer if needed; troubleshoot; document all pertinent data
• →Data Processing – Verify, review and document all pertinent data after testing; finalize data and provide to project engineer
• →Lab Maintenance/Post-test Breakdown – Physically remove test items; maintain lab by cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current and organizing supplies
• →Perform other duties as needed 

• Basic understanding of routine electrical and mechanical operations
• Basic knowledge of Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, and other data collection instruments
• Basic knowledge of circuitry design, troubleshooting, safety practices and wiring
• Must be able to use standard instrumentation, i.e. temperature probes, thermocouples, pressure transducers and accelerometers, RF Signal Generators, RF Amplifiers
• Basic usage of Microsoft Office suite and other computer skills
• Preferred Avionics Technician background
• Prepare specimens for testing in accordance with Testing Specification
• Knowledge in EMI Testing standards MIL-STD-461, RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1399 300B / 070, etc
