Element has an opportunity for an analytical chemist working in the inorganic section analysing waters and soils using traditional wet techniques and instrumentation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Analytical laboratory inorganic chemists with wet chemistry and instrument operation experience to work unsupervised in the inorganic section
  • Assist in Preparing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) review, update, planning and implementation according to the guidelines ISO 17025 protocols
  • Assist in modifying the existing analytical SOPs as and when required
  • Setting up new analytical methods
  • Maintain quality records in the laboratory as per ISO 17025
  • Adhere to a comprehensive ISO 17025 quality system
  • Efficiently utilise the LIMS systems

Requirements

  • Have a diploma / degree in chemistry with at least 1 to 3 years experience in similar role
  • 1 year minimum of experience in a laboratory with ISO 17025 accreditation.
  • Have the ability to work in teams under pressure and flexible to work different working hours (night / day) shifts if required or necessary
  • Good English communication skills: reading, writing, speaking
  • Good maths skills
  • Knowledge and experience of safe operation of testing equipment and operating in an independent / chemistry / consultant laboratory
