We are looking for an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join our established ER team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys supporting managers across a multi‑site operation. You’ll work remotely day‑to‑day, with occasional travel to our Shrewsbury office for collaboration and regular travel to sites within your support area.
As an Employee Relations Advisor, you will provide a responsive, compliant and solutions‑focused ER advisory service to operational management teams across the UK. Acting as the first point of contact, you will take the lead in supporting a broad range of generalist HR issues.
Location: Remote – With national travel to bases as required.

Role Responsibilities
- Case Management: Support ER cases such as disciplinary actions, grievances, absence management, probation, AWOL, and flexible working.
- Manager Support: Advise line managers on informal and formal ER issues, ensuring consistent and fair application of policies.
- Policy Guidance: Ensure all advice aligns with current legislation and internal policies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of ER cases and resolutions using internal systems.
- Training & Development: Upskill managers on handling ER matters effectively and legally.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with trade unions and employee representatives where required.
- Reporting: Monitor ER KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Do you have what it takes?
Essential:
- Experience in a Shared Service or busy HR environment managing high‑volume ER cases
- Ability to provide both remote and on‑site ER support across multiple locations
- Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR policy application
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to write clear, understandable and concise correspondence with excellent attention to detail and telephone manner
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with commercial awareness
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office programmes
Desirable:
- Experience with HR systems, HRIS or CRM platforms
- Background in Health Care or similar regulated environments
Knowledge and qualifications
- Currently studying or have completed CIPD level 3 as a minimum and keen to progress.
- A minimum of 3 years HR experience with a good understanding and confidence when providing practical and commercial HR advice.
