| Position Summary: |
Help shape an inclusive student experience by advancing engagement, belonging, and success for students across campus. The Engagement and Belonging Specialist supports multi-ethnic students in cultivating a sense of belonging and providing opportunities for culturally responsive engagement. Responsibilities include individual coaching and consultations with students, conducting direct outreach to historically underrepresented multi-ethnic students, developing and presenting programming focusing on retention, engagement and belonging, collaborating with campus partners to support multi-ethnic students, supervising the work of four undergraduate student engagement assistants, coordinating a student peer mentoring program, and assisting with the organization of meetings with prospective students, family members, and counselors. The person in this position will frequently meet with students and will work collaboratively with a variety of campus partners. The programs and services offered by the Engagement and Belonging Specialist will be informed by data and best practices. This position reports to the Director of Strategic Belonging and Success Initiatives in the Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center (MEC).
