Senior Systems Engineer

We are looking for an experienced
Senior Systems Engineer to join our small, highly skilled team in Gothenburg. You will be the go-to person for everything from signalling protocol expertise to infrastructure operations, working in direct and daily contact with our telecom operator customers. You will play a central role in keeping our iNode platform running reliably and evolving to meet customer needs. This is a hybrid role based out of our Gothenburg, Sweden office, reporting to the Manager, Operations.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse customer needs and design new services in close cooperation with customers, suppliers and the technical team.

• Implement, configure and test new platforms and services in live operator environments.

• Troubleshoot complex issues across signalling, networking and infrastructure layers.

• Configure and maintain Linux-based server infrastructure including networking, routing, firewalls and VPN tunnels.

• Manage and operate network equipment: Cisco switches, routers and ASA firewalls.

• Install and operate physical infrastructure: servers, cabling, fiber, power supplies and UPS.

• Monitor systems using OP5/Nagios and manage backup/restore processes (Bacula).

• Participate in on-call duty rotation for 24/7 operational support.

• Drive continuous optimisation of platform performance and reliability.

Qualification and Experience:

• Deep knowledge of telecom signalling protocols: SIP, SS7, INAP, Diameter, ENUM.

• Linux: Rocky Linux / RedHat — networking, routing, firewall configuration, security hardening and bash scripting.

• CLI configuration of VLANs and VPN tunnels.

• Hands-on experience with Cisco switches, routers and ASA firewalls.

• MySQL / MariaDB: SQL query design and optimisation.

• Physical infrastructure: installation and operation of servers, network equipment and cabling.

• Strong troubleshooting skills in large, complex, mission-critical systems.

• Comfortable working directly with customers under pressure.

Good to Have:

• Apache / Tomcat, SSL configuration.

• OpenVPN, SMTP, SNMP/MIB.

• OP5 Monitor (Nagios), Bacula backup/restore.

• Xen virtualisation.

• Perl scripting.
