JOB SUMMARY
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Risk and Insurance Management, this position supports the company’s Risk and Insurance Management department. This involves assisting with insurance claims, data analysis and reporting, policy renewal support, assisting with identification of operational risk, safety issues and contractual liabilities. Other responsibilities include managing Certificates of insurance, assisting with Corporate Real Estate, assisting with WCB claims and providing administrative support such as managing department records, processing invoices and coordinating claim documentation.
As a Risk Insurance Analyst, you will collaborate closely with various departments including operations, finance, and legal to ensure comprehensive insurance coverage and compliance.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Support all Corporate insurance activities
Support claims review and administration
Support Corporate Real Estate portfolio
Manage Certificates of insurance
Support WCB claims and reporting
Provide data modeling and analysis to support Corporate risk and insurance activities
Assist the Director with investigations, accidents, property damage and liability claims with the view to determining cause, cost and potential mitigation strategies
Assist the Director with monitoring and administration of the department budget
Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and market trends affecting insurance and risk management.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify potential risks
Monitor and manage insurance claims, working closely with insurers and legal teams to resolve issues efficiently.
Assist in the negotiation and renewal of insurance contracts to optimize terms and coverage.

Proficient in the ability to analyze complex data and relay in simplified terms
Strong skills in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, insurance or a related field.
1 – 3 years of related experience
Pursuing professional certification
Experience in the oil and gas sector would be an asset

Certifications – Maintains technical and safety certifications required by company or government agencies; remains current on all OSHA, EUSD and other required training

Uses the correct protective clothing and equipment as provided by Ensign and guards against misuse or damage to such equipment
Reports any hazardous situations arising in the workplace that cannot be self-corrected, or injury incurred during the course of work, no matter how minor
Avoids injury resulting from manual handling tasks, by use of risk assessment, correct mechanical handling equipment and correct manual handling techniques
