The Security Analyst supports Entrata's information security program by monitoring systems for threats, triaging alerts, and assisting with vulnerability remediation, compliance activities, and security awareness initiatives. Working under the guidance of senior analysts, this role helps protect company, employee, and resident data across the platform. It is an entry-level position designed for someone building a career in information security.
Monitor security tooling (SIEM, EDR, email security, identity platforms) and triage alerts, escalating confirmed or suspicious activity to senior analysts.
Assist with vulnerability scans and track remediation progress with system and application owners, ensuring findings are closed within agreed SLAs.
Support compliance and audit activities (SOC 2, PCI DSS, internal reviews) by gathering evidence, updating control documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
Contribute to security awareness initiatives, including phishing simulations, employee training rollouts, and ongoing education campaigns.
Perform user access reviews and assist with identity and access management hygiene, including offboarding verification and entitlement cleanup.
Document investigations, procedures, and lessons learned in tickets, runbooks, and team knowledge base articles.
Foundational understanding of information security concepts: the CIA triad, common attack types (phishing, malware, credential theft), basic networking, and common security controls.
Working familiarity with at least one major operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux), including basic command line usage.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical work in a way that holds up to audit and peer review.
Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a coachable approach to feedback from senior team members.
Comfort working in a ticket-based, collaborative environment with shifting priorities.
0-2 years of professional experience in IT, help desk, system administration, networking, or a directly related technical role.
Demonstrated exposure to information security concepts through coursework, certifications, internships, home labs, CTF participation, or personal projects.
Any prior experience in a customer-facing, fast-paced, or service-oriented role is a plus, given the cross-functional nature of the work.
Proactively leverages company-approved AI tools to automate routine tasks and accelerate high-value deliverables.
