About the Role
~1 min readThe Consolidations & Reporting Manager is responsible for building, owning, and continuously improving the Group consolidation and external reporting function. This role takes the current consolidation process, which is manual, fragmented, and error‑prone, to a modern, automated, well‑controlled process that delivers reliable numbers, defensible analysis, and audit‑ready documentation.
This is a hands‑on leadership role with a strong technical accounting foundation, significant exposure to auditors, and close day‑to‑day interaction with FP&A and local finance teams across the Group.
Design, implement, and own a robust Group consolidation process under IFRS, including eliminations, equity accounting, FX, and complex group structures.
Drive the transition from spreadsheet‑driven consolidations to a controlled, scalable, and automated consolidation and reporting environment.
Define and document end‑to‑end consolidation processes, controls, and ownership (including clear calendars and deliverables).
Take ownership of consolidated financial reporting under IFRS, including quarterly and annual reporting.
Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors on consolidation, accounting judgments, and reporting topics.
Prepare, review, and defend technical accounting position papers and key accounting memos.
Coordinate audit support efficiently, ensuring timely, complete, and well‑structured audit evidence.
Strengthen and maintain the internal control framework around consolidation and reporting processes (second‑line oversight mindset).
Work closely with FP&A to ensure alignment between management reporting, performance analysis, and statutory results.
Partner with local site finance teams to improve data quality, close discipline, and technical accounting capabilities.
Provide guidance and training to finance teams on IFRS and group reporting requirements.
Build and develop the consolidation and reporting team over time, including coaching and upskilling team members.
Set clear quality standards, review discipline, and accountability within the function.
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; professional qualification (RA, CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent) strongly preferred.
7+ years of relevant experience, including audit and/or group consolidation roles in an international environment.
Strong technical IFRS knowledge and proven experience with group consolidations.
Demonstrated ability to build, improve, and automate finance processes rather than simply run them.
Comfortable challenging data quality issues and driving change across functions and geographies.
Clear communicator with the confidence to deal with auditors, senior management, and site finance teams.
A hands-on mentality and willingness to build processes and documentation further.
Excellent communication skills in English; familiarity with Dutch a plus.
