Assistant Supervisor Nights

The Assistant Shift Supervisor provides support to the shift supervisor, ensures the team meets shift production goals, back up team leader.

• →Work with all team members in each area in day-to-day operations.
• →Fill in areas when personnel are absent if staffing is not available.
• →Train new hires when needed.   
• →Back up team leader on all fronts of Pellet Mill/ Hammermill operation.
• →Follow up on daily shift testing to make sure within spec and if not communicate to the team leader.
• → Should own the 5s procedure with all that applies.
• →Must be able to multitask by balancing multiple items throughout the process.
• →Perform/coordinate housekeeping daily/weekly for shift swaps to maintain to required standard, also walk with Safety manager during housekeeping audit monthly.  
• →Escalate issues promptly for proper resolution

• Must demonstrate a mechanical aptitude
• Ability to develop and maintain accurate records
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job descriptions
• Proficient in mathematics and measurements

• Experience in a pellet manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to develop and maintain accurate records

• High School degree or equivalent

• Must be available to work any shift/any day required; overtime is frequent
• Must be able to work in environments that reach temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
• Able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment.
• Able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment.

• Climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces on an occasional basis up to 100 ft
• Must be able to push, pull and lift items up to 50 lbs
•  Able to frequently walk or stand in addition to the capability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift items above shoulders on an occasional basis
•  Must use required/provided PPE (i.e. safety glasses, hard hat, steel toe boots & hearing protection)
