Analytical Technician I

Role Overview

The Analytical Technician is responsible for performing wet chemistry analyses, in-process testing, production sampling, and analytical support activities in accordance with company quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. This position serves as a critical link between manufacturing operations and the analytical laboratory by providing timely testing, analytical data, and production support for specialty chemical products.

The role requires strict adherence to laboratory procedures, contamination control practices, safety protocols, and quality management system requirements while supporting production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Primary Responsibilities



Wet Chemistry Analysis

  • Perform manual and automated titrations, including acid-based and complexometric analyses.
  • Operate and maintain automated titration systems in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Conduct Karl Fischer (KF) moisture analyses utilizing oven sampler systems for solids and air-sensitive materials.
  • Prepare reagents, standards, and laboratory solutions as required.
  • Calculate, verify, and document analytical results accurately.
  • Travel to the University of Milwaukee (UWM) to conduct or support NMR analysis as required.

Analytical Instrumentation

  • Operate analytical instrumentation including Karl Fischer titrators, automated titrators, gas release measurement systems, and GC-MS equipment.
  • Perform routine instrument setup, calibration verification, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Support purity verification and lot-to-lot consistency testing using approved analytical methods.
  • Maintain analytical equipment in accordance with laboratory procedures.

In-Process Production Support

  • Collect in-process samples directly from production equipment, reactors, and process systems.
  • Perform analytical testing to support manufacturing operations and process control.
  • Provide timely analytical feedback to production personnel during critical manufacturing stages.
  • Execute sampling procedures for air-sensitive and high-purity materials while maintaining sample integrity.
  • Serve as a liaison between production and laboratory operations to support efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Travel between Ereztech’s Saukville (SKV) and Sheboygan Falls (SFL) locations as business needs require.

Laboratory Operations & Contamination Control

  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Clean, inspect, and maintain laboratory glassware, sample preparation equipment, and workspaces.
  • Follow contamination control procedures for high-purity chemical materials.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of laboratory materials and chemical waste.

Quality & Documentation

  • Accurately record analytical results, observations, calculations, and testing data.
  • Assist with quality checks.
  • Review analytical results for anomalies, trends, and deviations.
  • Complete laboratory documentation in accordance with quality system requirements.
  • Support investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO standards, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and company procedures.

Safety & Compliance

  • Comply with all laboratory safety procedures, chemical handling requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in required safety, quality, and compliance training.
  • Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, equipment issues, or quality deviations.
  • Support safe handling of hazardous, reactive, and air-sensitive materials.



Required Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Reliable transportation for travel between company locations and external partner facilities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel between Ereztech’s Saukville and Sheboygan Falls locations as business needs require.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to UWM for NMR analysis and related project support.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous laboratory, quality control, chemical manufacturing, or analytical testing experience preferred.
  • Experience with wet chemistry techniques and laboratory instrumentation preferred.
  • Experience working in regulated manufacturing or laboratory environments preferred.
  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Laboratory Science, or related scientific discipline preferred.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic analytical chemistry principles and laboratory practices.
  • Ability to perform precise analytical testing and calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and technical instructions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn advanced techniques including air-sensitive handling, Schlenk line operations, and glovebox procedures.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and work in laboratory and production environments for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 35 pounds with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators when necessary.
  • Ability to work around chemicals, laboratory equipment, and manufacturing operations.

 

Work Environment

This position operates within laboratory and chemical manufacturing environments involving analytical instrumentation, chemical handling, production support activities, and controlled workspaces. Employees may be exposed to chemicals, fumes, moving equipment, and varying environmental conditions while performing assigned duties.
