ERG is seeking a Senior Cloud Administrator/Engineer to support secure Navy cloud environments and mission-critical cloud services. This role ensures that cloud-based systems are engineered, operated, and maintained in alignment with DoD cloud security requirements, delivering secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure for Navy operations.
This is a fulltime onsite position at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Indian Head. Indian Head, MD, is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA.
Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure, services, and environments, ensuring availability, scalability, and performance
Implement and enforce security, governance, and compliance controls in accordance with DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CC SRG) and Navy policy
Support cloud migration activities, including design, planning, data transfer, testing, and cutover
Monitor cloud resources to identify optimization opportunities and performance improvements
Integrate cloud security solutions, identity and access management, encryption, and monitoring capabilities
Ensure cloud solutions remain aligned with DoD cybersecurity, RMF, and cloud policy requirements
Troubleshoot complex cloud performance, connectivity, and configuration issues
Maintain documentation for architectures, configurations, system baselines, and operational procedures
Bachelor’s degree in Cloud Computing, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
8+ years of cloud engineering or cloud systems administration experience
Relevant cloud platform certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and Information Assurance (IA) certifications
DoD 8140/8570.01-M IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP)
Strong experience with cloud operations, security controls, containerization, storage, networking, and automation tools
Knowledge of DoD cloud compliance requirements, RMF controls, and CC SRG guidelines
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to operate independently in high‑security environments
Must currently hold or maintain a Department of Defense T5 investigation/privileged access eligibility (T5 (SSBI) clearance)
Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
Experience supporting Navy cloud environments or DoD enterprise cloud platforms
Familiarity with cloud-native security tools, monitoring systems, and infrastructure-as-code technologies (e.g., Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)
Experience with hybrid cloud architectures and secure connectivity solutions
