Technology & Systems Summer Internship (C++ / Python / LLM / Agentic AI) - Łódź

Start your career in Ericsson within SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM in Łódź! We are looking for curious and motivated students to join our Technology & Systems Department for a Summer Internship Program. This is an opportunity to work closely with experienced system architects and contribute to innovative internal projects combining software engineering, AI, automation, and telecommunications technologies. Unlike traditional software roles, this internship offers exposure to system-level thinking, architecture design, prototyping and complex problem-solving in a real engineering environment. During the internship, you may contribute to practical projects related to AI agents, engineering automation or virtualization of existing hardware. As a summer intern, you will: * contribute to the design and analysis of system-level solutions rather than only implementing code, * support development of tools and concepts using C++, Python and other programming languages, * work with modern AI/ML technologies, including: \- Large Language Models (LLMs), \- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and embeddings, \- AI-assisted engineering workflows (requirements review, document analysis, configuration generation, log analysis and test preparation), * explore and prototype intelligent automation solutions using AI-driven approaches, * collaborate with system architects on use cases, requirements, and technical feasibility analysis and proof-of-concept work, * participate in internal innovation initiatives and experimental projects, * prepare demos, documentation or technical summaries of your work. Apply if you: * are a student in the final years of studies (4th–5th year or equivalent) in: \- Telecommunications, \- Computer Science, \- Software Engineering or related fields, * Have programming skills in: \- C++ \- Python * have an interest in AI/ML technologies, especially: \- LLMs and prompt engineering, \- Agentic AI concepts, \- AI-assisted development workflows, * emonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, * are curious about how complex systems work, not just how to implement predefined features, * communicate effectively in English, * you do not need to be an expert in AI, telecom or system architecture. Curiosity, ownership, analytical thinking and willingness to learn are more important. Nice to have (not required) * Experience with: \- Machine Learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn), \- LLM-based tools, RAG pipelines, or embeddings, * experience with agent-building tools such as: - Amazon Kiro, \- Amazon Q Developer, * familiarity with software engineering best practices (e.g., Git, Linux, Docker), * basic understanding of 4G/5G technologies (Radio Access Network, telecom systems), During the internship, you can gain practical experience in: * building AI-supported engineering tools, * understanding how complex technical systems are designed, * working with requirements, architecture concepts and technical feasibility analysis, * prototyping solutions using Python, C++, LLMs and automation tools, * connecting software engineering with real system-level problems, * preparing demos, proofs of concept and technical documentation. By the end of the internship, you will have a chance to present something concrete, such as a prototype, demo, concept, automation flow or internal tool.
