Summary:

Esposito Construction has dozens of major sitework projects underway in NJ and we’re looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform large and small repairs in either a mobile or shop setting.
  • Strong preventative and predictive maintenance experience.
  • Experienced in engine diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC, drivetrain, brakes and suspension.
  • Focuses first and foremost on “safety” in all aspects of equipment repairs.


Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair dozers, loaders, excavators, and occasionally Mack trucks.
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative care to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
  • Identify and replace faulty hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components as needed.
  • Conduct engine, transmission, and brake system repairs on heavy equipment.
  • Perform welding and fabrication when necessary for structural repairs.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts used.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to minimize downtime of equipment.
  • Occasionally perform field service repairs on job sites when equipment breakdowns occur.
  • Keeps shop/truck equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
