Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing welding repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment, trucks, and related machinery for a site work company. You will handle on-site and in-shop welding tasks, ensuring the safety, efficiency, and operability of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding repairs and fabrication on heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dozers) and trucks, addressing structural damages, cracks, and wear.
  • Travel to job sites to provide on-site repairs and troubleshooting for equipment breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with mechanics and operators to assess and identify welding needs.
  • Utilize various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick welding, etc.) to repair or fabricate parts and components.
  • Operate tools such as torches, grinders, and plasma cutters to cut and prepare metal.
  • Inspect welds to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to perform repairs.
  • Assist in preventive maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in welding preferred.
  • Proven experience as a welder, preferably working with heavy equipment and trucks.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding, with knowledge of various metals (steel, aluminum, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments.
