Are you a finance professional who enjoys working in an international environment?
As a Finance Assistant at Eurail, you’ll play an important role in our day-to-day finance operations, with a primary focus on Accounts Payable. At the same time, you’ll gain exposure to broader accounting activities and collaborate closely with colleagues across the business.
You’ll have the opportunity to gradually take on additional finance responsibilities depending on your experience and interests.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working accurately, takes ownership, and is motivated to further develop within finance.
Responsibilities
~1 min readAs a Finance Assistant at Eurail, you’ll work as part of our Accounting team of four, reporting to the Head of Accounting. You’ll support daily accounting operations while contributing to financial reporting, analysis, and process optimization. You’ll also help the team explore opportunities to automate and enhance financial reporting using tools such as Power BI and AI solutions.
Processing purchase invoices and ensuring accurate and timely administration
Preparing supplier payments and monitoring payment deadlines
Managing supplier accounts and handling vendor queries
Processing employee expense claims and credit card expenses
Supporting month-end closing activities and reconciliations
Assisting with general accounting and finance administration tasks
Helping improve finance processes and supporting automation initiatives where relevant
Collaborating with colleagues across the business to ensure smooth financial operations
Completed financial MBO education, such as business administration or a practical Accounting diploma
Minimum 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable or a similar finance support role within a Dutch-based company (required)
Solid understanding of (Dutch) accounting principles
Comfortable working with Excel; experience with Exact Online is beneficial
Interest in digital tools and improving finance processes is beneficial
You enjoy thinking about smarter and more efficient ways of working
Sense of ownership and ability to manage priorities in a changing environment
You thrive in an open, informal company culture and are social and collaborative
Cooperative with good communication skills
You are motivated to learn and develop within finance
You work accurately and enjoy being accountable for your responsibilities
Proficient in English and Dutch, both oral and written.

Salary Scale: 57b - 58 , Monthly gross salary (excluding 8% allowance): 3300 € - 3900 € (full-time) based on experience.
