Evergreen Legal is seeking a Staff Attorney or Senior Staff Attorney with experience in litigation and legal writing.
As part of the Evergreen team, you will help craft legal strategies and litigate on some of the most pressing issues, including gun violence prevention, election integrity, and anti-corruption.
Litigation: Develop new litigation ideas and manage the day-to-day in ongoing litigation, including via research and drafting, communicating with clients, and coordinating with co-counsel.
Legal & Regulatory Strategy: Develop and implement legal strategies that advance our clients’ policy objectives across a range of issue areas. Draft legal content such as regulatory comments, legal fact sheets, legal memorandum, and issue briefs.
Substantive Expertise: Closely follow legal and policy developments, political news, and industry trends. Must have demonstrated experience in mastering new issue areas quickly.
Client Relations & Project Management: Contribute to multiple client teams, cultivating external relationships and coordinating internal workflow. This includes supporting senior team members with day-to-day client work and tracking deliverables from conception to execution. Requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar membership required. Membership in the D.C. bar, or ability to become a member, required.
A minimum of four years of legal experience. Federal clerkship preferred but not required.
Litigation experience strongly preferred; understanding of constitutional law and administrative law preferred but not required.
Exceptional legal research, writing, and editing skills, with a track record of producing high-quality legal documents.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to quickly translate legal complexity for diverse audiences.
Ability to think creatively to address complex issues.
