Responsibilities
~1 min readAs a signals software engineer, you know how to create and maintain critical software supporting complex signal processing systems. You use your expertise to design and optimize code that enables software, hardware, and RF processing components to operate together effectively. We’re looking for an experienced signals software engineer like you to help develop advanced technology solutions addressing our clients’ most mission-critical challenges.
As a signals software engineer at EverWatch, you’ll support the development of signal processing systems, operational tools, and mission platforms. Using modern engineering tools and techniques, you’ll design, develop, test, and maintain software supporting RF collection, processing, and analysis capabilities. You’ll expand your skills as you develop and enhance software that supports signal detection, demodulation, and protocol processing across a range of operational environments. You’ll collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot operational issues and work alongside cybersecurity specialists to ensure secure, resilient software solutions.

Requirements

- Experience with developing, maintaining, and enhancing signal processing software including detectors, demodulators, and protocol processors in RF-focused environments
- Experience with analyzing user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements and translating them into functional implementations
- Experience with designing, coding, debugging, and modifying software to add new features, resolve defects, and improve performance
- Experience with implementing digital signal processing techniques including Fourier transforms, filtering, communications theory, and digital modulation
- Knowledge of digital modulation techniques, signal processing algorithms, and Radio Frequency (RF) data processing concepts
- Knowledge of software development methodologies, software lifecycle processes, and COTS/GOTS integration within system architectures
- Ability to develop software using C++ and/or Java within Linux operating system environments
- Ability to integrate existing software into new or modified systems, develop algorithms to meet performance requirements, and support software testing and documentation
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or Engineering, and 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with Radio Frequency (RF) or HS Diploma or GED and 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with Radio Frequency (RF)
- Experience with software defined radio architectures such as SCA, REDHAWK, or GNU Radio
- Experience with commercial wireless standards and geolocation techniques
- Experience with software configuration management tools including Git, Subversion, ClearQuest, or Trac
- Knowledge of Python, Eclipse IDE, and Google Protocol Buffers
- Knowledge of model-based design tools such as MATLAB or SIMULINK
- Ability to develop solutions using service-oriented architectures in Linux-based environments
- Ability to apply scientific analysis and mathematical modeling to predict and measure software design outcomes
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues within RF processing and signal processing systems

Compensation at EverWatch is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62.50 to $76.93 per hour. The estimate displayed represents the typical compensation range for this position and is just one component of EverWatch’s total compensation package for employees.
