CDL Class A Instructor — Denver, CO
Home every night. Weekends off. Still in the industry — using your knowledge to help others.

You've spent years mastering the road. You know things a classroom can't teach. Maybe you're ready for a schedule you can plan a life around — or maybe you just want the work to mean something more than the next load.

This is that next step. At Excel Driver Services, you'll train the next generation of CDL drivers in a professional environment with excellent equipment and modern, technology-based training. No freight. No chaining up. No drop-and-hook, tarping, or ship-and-receive. Just a clean, structured, daytime career where your experience is the whole point. Take what you have learned through experience and help others get into a career with realistic opportunities.

What you'll do:
Our instructors act as leaders focused on transferring skills and behaviors on how to become a driver, instructing on driver safety, setting good behavioral skills and goals, and learning what it takes to be successful. As an instructor, you lead students as more than a mentor, rather a coach and mentor throughout a process involving practical solutions for students behind the wheel, helping adult learners launch real careers — work that utilizes everything you already know.

The trade you've been waiting for:

  • Set daytime schedule (6:45am-5pm, five-day workweek, weekends off (minus weather delays)
  • Home every night, assigned equipment
  • Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, 6 paid holidays
  • A clear path forward: advancements in other specialties as they arise

What we're looking for:
5+ years Class A experience and a current CDL. A clean record — no DUI/DWI, no chargeable accidents or reckless citations in the last 5 years (no more than one in 10). You must have professional people skills to teach, not just tell, rather transferring knowledge critical to the trainees.  Prior training experience is a plus, but we'll train the right person who's professional, personable, and genuinely wants to see others succeed.

If you're an experienced driver, trainer, or examiner ready for steady days and work that matters — let's talk.
