Junior Geotechnical Technician

We have an immediate opening for a Geotechnical Technician to join our Materials Testing group in our Cambridge, ON office.

• Carrying out aggregate, soil tests in the field and within our Aggregate Laboratories
• Soil Identification and Examination of Subgrade Soils
• Insitu Density and Compaction Testing
• Concrete, Mortar and Grout Sampling and Testing
• Asphalt Sampling and Testing
• Ensuring field and laboratory equipment is maintained in good condition
• Assisting management team in field and laboratory certification, and record keeping
• Interacting with Materials and Geotechnical Engineers routinely
• Operating computerized and digital testing equipment
• Field and Laboratory result report writing

• Minimum 2 years' experience in field and Aggregate, testing Laboratory
• College diploma an asset
• Field experience in concrete, earthworks and asphalt
• CCIL/CSA certified for field concrete testing (required), laboratory certification an asset
• Strong communication skills and leadership capabilities
• Ability to work overtime in peak periods
• Excellent organizational skills and time management a must
• Proficiency with the windows operating system, Microsoft Excel
• Able to organize, prioritize, set and adjust priorities and schedules independently

The salary range for this role is between $43.7k-$58k. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
