The Role:

The Legal AI Quality & Implementation Associate supports the implementation of AI-enabled solutions while providing an independent legal quality-assurance layer across the firm's contract management engagements. The role reviews and validates AI prompts, contract analysis outputs, summaries, negotiation materials, playbooks and implementation assets prepared by other members of the team.

The position requires strong commercial contracting knowledge combined with practical prompt-writing skills. The Associate must be able to identify legal and quality issues, explain their significance, trace them back to the relevant prompt or workflow and provide clear, actionable recommendations for improvement.

.

  1. Independently review AI-generated contract reviews, issue lists, clause extractions, risk assessments, summaries, obligation reports, deviation reports, negotiation drafts, proposed redlines and fallback positions.
  2. Validate legal accuracy, completeness, consistency and practical usability against the underlying contract, applicable client playbook and approved contractual positions.
  3. Identify missed issues, incorrect interpretations, unsupported assumptions, inconsistent outputs and potentially misleading conclusions.
  4. Distinguish legally material issues from lower-risk drafting or presentation improvements and escalate significant matters to the appropriate senior stakeholder.
  1. Review prompts and prompt-based workflows created by Legal AI and contract management team members.
  2. Assess whether prompts accurately reflect the intended legal analysis, contractual position, required output and escalation logic.
  3. Determine whether identified issues originate from the prompt, playbook, source data, workflow configuration or limitations of the AI tool.
  4. Provide structured feedback explaining what is incorrect or incomplete, why it matters, what the expected output should contain and how the prompt or workflow should be amended and tested.
  5. Rewrite or refine prompts to improve legal accuracy, completeness, consistency and usability, including legal context, definitions, exclusions, fallback logic and structured output requirements.
  1. Design representative legal test cases covering different contract types, clauses, drafting styles, negotiation positions and risk scenarios.
  2. Compare AI-generated outputs against manual legal analysis, approved playbooks, reference answers and agreed acceptance criteria.
  3. Perform regression testing following changes to prompts, playbooks, workflows or system configurations.
  4. Record findings, recommended remediation and retesting results in a clear and traceable format.
  5. Confirm whether identified issues have been resolved before prompts or workflows are approved for wider use.
  1. Support the implementation and optimisation of approved AI solutions across existing contract management engagements.
  2. Assist with designing and mobilising AI-enabled processes for new client engagements.
  3. Translate legal and business requirements into prompts, workflows, test criteria, user guidance and implementation documentation.
  4. Support pilots, user acceptance testing, deployment and post-implementation reviews.
  5. Provide legal and prompt-engineering input when adapting solutions to new contract types, industries, jurisdictions or client playbooks.
  1. Review and improve contract review and negotiation playbooks, including positions, fallback options, risk classifications and escalation criteria.
  2. Provide constructive, detailed and actionable feedback to colleagues responsible for prompt creation and AI implementation.
  3. Work collaboratively with the original author to improve prompts and outputs, rather than limiting the review to identifying errors.
  4. Maintain review records, approved prompts, test cases, known limitations, implementation guidance and lessons learned.
  5. Apply requirements relating to confidentiality, data protection, information security, client permissions, human review and responsible AI use.
    • Legal education or equivalent practical experience in commercial contracts, contract management or legal services delivery.
    • Strong understanding of commercial contract structures, common clauses, risk allocation and negotiation principles.
    • Practical experience reviewing, interpreting or negotiating commercial contracts.
    • Ability to identify legal risks, inconsistencies, omissions and deviations from approved positions.
    • Ability to provide clear, structured and actionable legal feedback.
    • Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Confidence constructively challenging outputs that do not meet the required legal or quality standards.
    • Hands-on experience using generative AI or large language model tools for legal, contract management or knowledge-management use cases.
    • Experience creating, reviewing or optimising prompts, structured outputs and prompt-based workflows.
    • Experience with legal quality assurance, peer review, audit, AI evaluation or user acceptance testing.
    • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management platforms, document review tools or workflow automation.
