We are seeking an exceptional Client Account Manager to join our Consultancy Team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about sustainable food systems, with hands-on understanding of retail and food supply chains, and a grounding in animal agriculture or livestock sectors.

You will be the trusted partner to a portfolio of clients—helping them understand their challenges, identify opportunities, and deliver evidence-led solutions that drive sustainability outcomes across farmed animal supply chains.

This is a client-facing, delivery-focused role, working closely with cross-functional colleagues including strategists, scientists, analysts, and supply chain experts.

Responsibilities

  • Work with FAI’s international team (strategists, scientists, data analysts, software developers, and supply chain experts) to deliver impactful programmes.
  • Manage the planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of key client accounts and sustainability programmes.
  • Coordinate budgets, work plans, timelines, and client communications to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with client teams to understand their needs and deliver tangible value.
  • Provide consultancy support, including preparing technical reports, position statements, and delivering presentations.
  • Contribute expertise on retail supply chains, livestock production systems, and animal agriculture challenges.
  • Support the development and refinement of FAI’s data systems and digital tools (e.g., Insite) through user feedback and programme insights.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client programmes or develop new solutions.
  • Contribute to proposal development, strategic pitches, and scoping conversations alongside the Sales and Consultancy teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working within retail, food supply chains, or terrestrial livestock/agriculture sectors.
  • Strong project management skills: planning, delivery, budgeting, and evaluation.
  • Experience in client-facing roles with a track record of building and nurturing strong relationships.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality outputs in fast-paced environments with competing deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Strong digital competency (e.g., Microsoft Office, project management tools, data handling).
  • Degree (or equivalent industry experience) in Agriculture, Sustainability, Food Systems, Animal Science, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of sustainability issues within food and farming systems—including welfare, environmental performance, and regenerative agriculture.
  • Experience identifying new business opportunities or contributing to consultancy proposals.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work autonomously.
  • A proactive problem-solver with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working with international colleagues in a remote environment.
  • Collaborative, positive, and aligned with FAI’s mission to drive positive food system change.
  • Comfortable with working remotely and with colleagues in a variety of international locations.
