IT & Security Generalist

Farsight is a ~40-person SaaS company building workflow automation for investment banks, private equity, hedge funds, and asset managers. IT and Security currently run as a one-person function. As we scale toward 100 employees, we're hiring a IT & Security Generalist to grow into ownership of it, mentored directly by our Head of Information Security.

Farsight serves major financial institutions, so security judgment here directly affects customer trust, not just process. Managers here focus on developing your judgment rather than just directing your tasks, and we hold each other to clear, reliable commitments.

You’ll start with picking up onboarding/offboarding processes, device fleet compliance, Tier 1 support, and inventory. This role has space growing into full ownership of identity, endpoint management, security triage, and vendor management as we scale!

• At least 2 years of professional experience in an IT capacity

• Device management: Mac, Windows, mobile provisioning and MDM

• SaaS tool administration: Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, etc.

• Basic networking: Wi-Fi, VPN, firewall basics

• Security hygiene: access controls, offboarding, MFA, SSO

• User support and onboarding: setting up new hires quickly

• Basic cloud familiarity: AWS or GCP at a user level

• Legally able to work in the US, onsite in NYC. No degree required. Curious, collaborative, reliable.

• Asking for help early is good judgment, not weakness

• Finishing what's started over starting new things

• Speaking up when you disagree, ideally with an alternative in hand

• No shortcuts that trade security for convenience

• Genuine curiosity about how things work, not just closing the ticket
