Responsibilities
~1 min readAs Strategy Development Manager you help develop Fastned's medium- to long-term strategy, working closely with leadership and functional teams across the company. You do this as part of a small, high-impact Strategy team alongside the VP Strategy and the Director of Strategy, with direct exposure to the Board.
Your work is hands-on and collaborative. Rather than producing strategy from a distance, you are embedded in the process: working with country teams, functional leaders and other stakeholders to develop strategies, evaluate options, make recommendations and support implementation. You help leadership and teams think through their most important strategic questions and make sure the answers are grounded in solid analysis and clear reasoning.

Shape strategy with the business Work side by side with country directors, functional leaders and their teams to develop strategies for Fastned's most important challenges and opportunities; from problem framing through analysis and option development to recommendations.

Sharpen the long-term vision and narrative Contribute to Fastned's strategic story: translating Board direction and outside-in insights into a clear narrative that resonates across the organisation.

Analyse markets and technologies Conduct structured analysis on upcoming technologies, customer segments, competitive dynamics and market developments, and distill what these mean for Fastned.

Be a rigorous sparring partner Challenge assumptions, surface blind spots and pressure-test reasoning, in Board discussions as well as in working sessions with the business.

Make strategy land, not just land on paper Not only communicate our strategic direction, but also help functions and country teams translate into executable plans: clarifying deliverables, scope, dependencies and trade-offs.

Surface misalignment across the organisation Keep an eye on how strategies across departments and countries connect. Where you spot gaps or contradictions, flag them to leadership so they can be addressed. You are the early-warning system, not the one who has to resolve every misalignment yourself.

Own the customer experience agenda Take ownership of customer experience as a cross-departmental strategic pillar, ensuring it is embedded and progressed across the organisation.
