Summary:

The Equipment Manager is responsible for all equipment-related needs including deliveries, maintenance and repairs, ensuring productivity, and ensuring quality and safety requirements are being met. This role will work closely with the Equipment Director to maintain the Company’s telematics software, including the tracking and reporting of Fessler & Bowman’s fleet, heavy equipment, machinery, and small tools. The descriptions below are representative of, but not limited to, the duties and responsibilities for this position.



Five Key Roles of the Equipment Manager:

  • Monitoring all aspects of heavy equipment & vehicle needs, including safety and quality standards.
  • Issue & maintain P.O.’s on all rental equipment as well as shop work orders.
  • Ensure owned & rental equipment is being utilized efficiently, including the distribution of weekly utilization reports.
  • Scheduling maintenance and repairs to minimize delays, downtime and claims.
  • Document all equipment maintenance & repairs within Tenna.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicate & coordinate with Directors of Civil Construction on all equipment needs and duration.
  • Working closely with Field Teams on necessary equipment needs and schedules.
  • Actively participating in meetings, including F&B Level 10 and weekly Tenna meetings to review and address any open concerns.
  • Ensure daily operation of equipment reporting on telematics platform.
  • Confirm the install/setup of hardware and removal when equipment, tools and assets are acquired or retired.
  • Manage the scheduling and cost of rental equipment, including call-offs and relay this information to the appropriate Field and PM Teams.
  • Assist field and office users on Tenna platform, including adding or removing users, jobs, and other key functions.
  • Complete project set-ups in Tenna, including accurate site geofencing.
  • Work with DMV to ensure registrations and titles are up to date and recorded in F&B systems.
  • Continually expanding knowledge and use of industry best practices and innovation.
  • Communicating and upholding the Company’s commitment to Integrity and Code of Ethics, as well as ensuring the same for the entire team.
  • Other relevant tasks as assigned.



Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Background in and knowledge of fleet, rental equipment and tools required.
  • Construction specific experience preferred.
  • Experience with Cat Vision link preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Excel.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely in a positive manner with team members



Travel:

Travel is required for this position. Travel may include, but is not limited to, travel from office to various job sites. Fessler and Bowman will compensate for travel when applicable.



Work Environment:

As an Equipment Manager, you will be subject to various work environments. Environments include but are not limited to the following: office and field settings, high/low temperatures, areas close to traffic, loud and frequent noises, confined spaces, heights, indoor/outdoor settings.
