Responsibilities

  • Policy monitoring and analysis: Track and interpret EU financial services policy and regulatory developments, translating complex legislative changes into clear, actionable insights for clients that go beyond surface-level monitoring. We expect analysis that connects regulatory developments to the political and geopolitical context and specific business needs of each client, presented in a way that is immediately understandable and useful to non-specialist audiences.
  • Client delivery: Lead the delivery of client mandates across the financial services sector, contributing to day-to-day account management and ensuring high-quality written and oral outputs.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Lead in identifying and engaging relevant political, policy and regulatory stakeholders across the EU institutions, member-state representations, trade associations and think tanks.
  • Project management: Own specific workstreams within larger mandates, coordinating across internal teams and ensure delivery meets deadlines and the highest standards.
  • New business support: Contribute to securing new business, including research, engagement, writing proposals and participating in pitch meetings alongside senior colleagues.
  • Junior team support: Provide guidance and feedback to junior colleagues, contributing to a culture of high performance within the team.

The ideal candidate has a solid grounding in EU financial services policy, gained through experience in a consultancy, trade association, EU institution or regulatory body, member-state representation and/or financial institution. You understand how policy and regulation affect businesses operating in the financial services sector, and you know how to communicate that clearly to clients whose priorities and pressures differ from those of the institutions.

  • 5–10 years of experience (depending on level) in a public-affairs agency, management consultancy, strategic advisory firm, trade association, EU institution or regulatory body, member-state representation and/or financial institution.
  • Direct experience working on financial services policy and regulation.
  • Excellent written and oral skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex policy and regulatory developments into concise, client-ready analysis.
  • Very good working knowledge of the EU financial services policy landscape, including key legislative files and the organisations that shape them.
  • Ability to engage confidently with clients and external stakeholders, with support from senior colleagues where needed.
  • Strong organisational skills and a track record of delivering to deadlines across multiple workstreams.
  • Proactive, collaborative approach with an interest in developing your own expertise and client relationships over time.
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are an asset.
