As the Injection Moulding Subject Matter Expert for global manufacturing operations, you will serve as the vital technical bridge between our customers and our supplier network, meticulously translating complex design intent into high-quality, manufacturable solutions. Your focus will be on strengthening and scaling capabilities across our global vendor base, driving technical excellence to ensure every production program is both cost-effective and operationally efficient. By providing strategic guidance and optimizing processes, you will enable accelerated product launches and superior outcomes across diverse industries. Ultimately, you will ensure that all technical activities are seamlessly aligned with our organization’s vision to establish the world's leading hardware manufacturing platform.
Responsibilities

Own and drive technical costing strategies and lead Design for Manufacturability/Assembly (DFM/DFA) initiatives, delivering optimized solutions that balance performance, manufacturability, tooling investment, and long-term unit economics.

Lead program industrialization and scale-up by transitioning products from prototype and low-volume builds to high-volume injection moulding production, including part redesign, material selection, tolerance optimization, and tooling architecture.

Collaborate across multiple manufacturing domains, supporting CNC machining, additive manufacturing (3DP), and sheet metal projects to deliver flexible, end-to-end customer solutions.

Drive end-to-end tooling development and engineering oversight, including proposal creation, mold flow analysis, tool design reviews, gating and cooling strategies, and design-for-cost decisions; act as the technical authority for new tools, tool transfers, and re-tooling initiatives.

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for global customers, ensuring clear translation of requirements into manufacturable solutions through cross-functional collaboration with engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing teams.

Contribute to platform and process enhancement as an SME by improving tools, workflows, and quoting algorithms to increase scalability, consistency, and accuracy.

Provide technical expertise and quoting support for adjacent processes, including LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber), compression moulding, and selective metal casting.

Ensure continuity from pre-sales to execution by accurately capturing requirements, validating manufacturability during quoting, and enabling seamless handoff to execution, supplier, and quality teams.

Maintain and actively contribute to the Quality Management System (QMS) to support compliance and continuous improvement.
Customer & Stakeholder Interface:

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for global customers. Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to translate requirements into manufacturable solutions through effective communication and cross-functional alignment.

Act as an SME for injection moulding and related processes, contributing to the development and continuous improvement of Fictiv’s platform tools, workflows, and quoting algorithms to enhance scalability and accuracy.

Provide technical support and quoting guidance for related processes such as LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber), compression moulding, and selective metal casting technologies.

Pre-Sales to Execution Continuity

Ensure accurate capture of customer requirements during pre-sales, validate manufacturability during quoting, and enable seamless technical handoff to execution, supplier, and

quality teams for successful program launches.

Travel may be required based on business needs and supplier/customer engagements.
- →
All employees are expected to maintain and contribute to the QMS.
- 6–7 years of hands-on experience in Injection Moulding manufacturing.
- 2–3 years of experience in Injection mold design and development.
- 2–3 years of experience as a tool maker/tooling engineer.
- Strong knowledge in CNC machining required.
- Basic knowledge on 3DP and Sheet metal is an added advantage.
- Strong expertise in injection moulding cost estimation (tooling + part cost).
- Deep understanding of DFM/DFx principles for plastic components.
- Solid knowledge of: Material selection,Shrinkage behavior, Wall thickness optimisation ,Common moulding defects and mitigation techniques, Working knowledge of Mold flow analysis.
- Exposure to die casting or similar processes is a plus.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
