Steps away from the main public transit station What we offer: Highly competitive compensation package which includes, base salary, bonus benefits, and career advancement opportunities! *Eligibility for benefits is dependent on the terms of employment     The Opportunity   The Commercial Mortgage Division is responsible for developing relationships with Investors, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, and Commercial Borrowers to obtain the highest market share of Commercial mortgages within Canada. The Division is responsible for the assessment of mortgage applications in making lending decisions in adherence with the established mortgage underwriting policies and guidelines. The Division also has responsibility for reviewing required documentation for compliance, accuracy and completion in order to advance funds on approved mortgage applications as well as all requirements for mortgages while on service. The Division maintains a consistent focus on service excellence.    Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Commercial Mortgages, and primarily located in our Vancouver office, the Vice President and Regional Manager is responsible for leading a team of Sales professionals within our Vancouver Office with coverage of the entire BC market. The Vice President and Regional Manager will work with the EVP, Commercial Mortgages to establish goals and targets for the sales team members and to manage growth of new customers as well as the sales team.                                                                                                                                                                                                 How you will contribute:   Sets short and long- term goals for the region and sales team members they are responsible for  Assists originators in the development and execution of their annual business plan including strategic customer plans  Foster a high‑performance, collaborative team culture across originators and underwriters, promoting trust, accountability, and shared goals. Enable effective interaction and alignment between internal teams and key external stakeholders, including brokers, clients, and partners. Lead by example in reinforcing communication, professionalism, and cross‑functional collaboration to support strong execution and client outcomes. Ensures compliance with strategic standards associated with company/division Customer Relationship Management (“CRM”) system Develops relationships with new customers to grow the business within the assigned territory  Establishes and maintains positive relationships with various internal and external senior stakeholders  Attends client meetings with sales team members  Visit sales team members on regular basis within their respective territories  Represents the company at various industry and market events  Manages and resolves escalations  Leads regular sales team meetings  Attends regular Commercial Senior Management meetings in Toronto head office locatio Identifies new potential team members on proactive basis for ongoing growth of the sales team  Provides ongoing feedback and coaching to sales team members  Stays current with latest industry and market trends and competition  Stays apprised of all legislative requirements including those related to licensing for the assigned territory  Adhere to policies /procedures to ensure AML requirements are met, when applicable.    The experience you need:   Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or related required  15 or more years in a senior management role within a similar company providing solutions to the Canadian commercial mortgage industry  15 or more years previous commercial mortgage underwriting experience required  Extensive experience across CMHC, conventional, and construction financing, with a strong understanding of structuring and execution Leadership and management skills  Strong analytical skills  Ability to build and maintain positive relationships  Ability to manage and lead change  Strong aptitude for service excellence  Ability to manage and resolve conflict  Strong communication skills—both written and verbal in English  Superior problem solving and decision making skills  Ability to manage pressure in an environment of high volume and specific service level agreements   Relationships: External Customers: Senior management at other financial institutions, Investors, Auditors, Regulators, Brokers, Canada Mortgage Housing Corporation, Appraisers, Solicitors, and Commercial Customers/Borrowers    Internal Customers: Interdepartmental team members including Commercial Funding and Renewals, Commercial Administration, Finance, and Capital Markets to ensure a fluid and transparent First National customer experience      Working Environment and Physical Demands Analysis: Office environment Periods of high volume with tight timelines Long periods of stationary position/sitting Prolonged periods of repetitive movement (i.e. using a keyboard and mouse) Long periods of time in viewing a computer screen Multi-tasking may include speaking to customers on a telephone call while looking up information on a computer program.   Why join First National?
