The Customs team at Flexport is critical to our mission of making global trade easier for everyone. As an Associate Manager, Customs in the Netherlands, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for ensuring the seamless and compliant movement of goods across borders. You will work closely with clients, carriers, and internal operations teams, navigating the complexities of customs regulations specific to the EMEA region. This is a unique opportunity to drive significant impact, optimize processes, and mentor a team, all while solving real-world challenges in a fast-paced, highly regulated industry.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Customs Specialists, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee daily customs brokerage operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strict adherence to EMEA customs regulations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational workflows and client experience.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and product teams to resolve complex customs issues and support strategic initiatives.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex customs declarations and regulatory inquiries, providing expert guidance.
- Monitor key performance indicators and drive initiatives to meet or exceed operational targets and compliance standards.
- 5+ years of experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, or a related field within the logistics industry.
- Proven experience leading and managing a team, with a focus on coaching and development.
- In-depth knowledge of EMEA customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
