The Senior Accountant, North America (NA), is responsible for the day-to-day general ledger operations of the North American entities, covering the full month-end close cycle on NetSuite: journal entries, account reconciliations, payroll posting, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet review. The role also owns the monthly debt schedules for the group and supports the Manager, Accounting, in preparing the NA reporting package for group consolidation.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Own the month-end close process for North American entities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and balance sheet reviews.
- →Maintain the general ledger in NetSuite, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- →Prepare and reconcile payroll, fixed assets, leases (IFRS 16), and bank accounts.
- →Manage debt and intercompany loan schedules, including interest calculations and monthly reporting.
- →Support the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages for group consolidation.
- →Perform variance analysis and investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- →Partner with Finance Operations to reconcile transactional activity and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- →Support external audit requests and contribute to maintaining strong internal controls and compliance with IFRS.
- →Participate in finance transformation initiatives, including ERP system enhancements and process improvements.
- 4+ years of progressive experience as an accountant or in a similar accounting role within a structured organization.
- CPA designation required.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS.
- Experience with NetSuite (preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, distributed, and evolving environment.
- Availability to maintain regular overlap with European business hours for collaboration with the Europe-based team.
